Local Business Spotlight: Southern Tail Brewery

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Southern Tail Brewery, a unique addition to the East Village neighborhood of Little Rock, which celebrated its grand opening on October 1st! Founded by the energetic duo Brent and Tracy Cryder, this brewery blends their passion for craft beer with a love for the community and its furry friends. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a tasty brew while soaking in the friendly, welcoming atmosphere!

How It All Started

Brent and Tracy dreamed of creating a warm and inviting space where everyone could enjoy delicious craft brews paired with comforting southern food—all while bringing their furry friends along! Brent, a talented homebrewer, has earned quite a few awards for his amazing creations, from IPAs and Black IPAs to ciders, saisons, and stouts. Their goal was to build a welcoming community hub that celebrates local flavors and caters to dog lovers and foodies alike, all while showcasing Brent’s award-winning brews that have captured hearts and taste buds across the country. 

Achieving Their Dreams with Support

To make their dream a reality, Brent and Tracy turned to Randy Williamson, senior SBA lender at Arkansas Federal Credit Union. Randy helped them get the financial support needed to launch Southern Tail Brewery. “It’s been a pleasure to help Brent and Tracy bring their vision to life,” he shared. 

Additionally, Brandon Horvath, Consulting Manager at the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, played a vital role in assisting them with business planning. “Brandon’s guidance was invaluable in navigating the complexities of starting a new business,” Brent noted. “We couldn’t have done it without him.”
