When It Comes to the Notre Dame Fire, Think Before You Click
4/17/2019
Bad guys are exploiting the recent fire that nearly destroyed the historic Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, so be careful when you click on items related to the tragic event.
Recognizing opportunity when they see it, these hackers and online shysters are setting up phony charities soliciting donations, introducing malware, phishing for clicks and even spreading misinformation aimed at advancing their own agendas.
Don’t fall for these scams. Don’t click on any links in emails, texts or social media posts related to the fire unless you’re certain it comes from a trustworthy source. And watch out for links to fake accounts purporting to represent mainstream news organizations.
Protect yourself. Think before you click.
