Rheem Arkansas Federal Credit Union is in the process of merging with Arkansas Federal Credit Union. As part of transitioning information from the Rheem Arkansas FCU account information system to Arkansas Federal’s system, we will begin limiting branch hours beginning February 21, 2023, to assist in this process.

About the Merger

Rheem Arkansas FCU voted on December 15, 2022, to merge with Arkansas Federal Credit Union. Arkansas Federal is committed to making this transition as easy as possible for you. Over the coming weeks, we will migrate all your account data into our account information system, with an anticipated completion date of May 1, 2023. 

To ensure you can enjoy all the new conveniences of digital banking, please make sure your contact information is updated by Friday, April 14, 2023, with Rheem Arkansas FCU.

What Does That Mean for You as an Existing Rheem Arkansas FCU member?

Is My Money Safe?

Yes. Arkansas Federal Credit Union’s shares are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government through the National Credit Union Association (NCUA). NCUA insures savings to at least $250,000.

Will My Member Number with Arkansas Federal Be the Same as My Rheem Arkansas FCU Member Number?

No. Once we have completed the account migration, you will have a new Arkansas Federal Credit Union member number. Please Note: If you are already an Arkansas Federal member, your accounts and loans will be migrated under the membership you already have. You will receive additional correspondence with your new Arkansas Federal member number and account/loan number(s) once the account migration is complete.

Will My Account Number(S) With Arkansas Federal Be the Same as My Rheem Arkansas Account Numbers?

No. Once your account(s)/loan(s) are migrated to Arkansas Federal, you will receive an Arkansas Federal account/loan number(s). You will be receiving additional correspondence that will contain your new Arkansas Federal account/loan number(s) once the migration is complete.

What Happens If I Already Have a Share Savings Account with Arkansas Federal?

Your Rheem Arkansas FCU Share Savings account will be merged to your current Arkansas Federal Share Savings account IF all aspects of the account ownership and beneficiary(s) match. If the account ownership and beneficiary(s) do not match, we will open a Personal Savings account and provide a reference description of the Rheem Arkansas FCU account description. You will receive additional correspondence with your new account number(s) once the account migration is complete.

How Will My Club Accounts Be Handled?

Your Rheem Arkansas FCU club accounts will be opened as Personal Savings accounts under your Arkansas Federal membership and will maintain the account description as it appeared at Rheem Arkansas FCU. You will receive additional correspondence with your new account number(s) after the migration is complete. Please note, you can also rename any account description within Arkansas Federal’s Online Banking solution.

What Happens If I Already Have a Checking Account with Arkansas Federal?

Your Rheem Arkansas FCU checking account will be migrated to your current Arkansas Federal membership as a non-dividend bearing Everyday Checking account and will maintain the account description as it appeared at Rheem Arkansas FCU. You will receive additional correspondence with your new account number after the migration is complete. Please note, you can also rename any account description within Arkansas Federal’s Online Banking solution.

How Do I Write Checks on My New Arkansas Federal Checking Account?

You can order checks for your new Arkansas Federal checking account on or after May 1, 2023, and will have until May 31, 2023, to replace your Rheem Arkansas FCU checks with Arkansas Federal checks. You can stop by our Ft. Smith or Van Buren branch locations and we will order your first box of checks for free. Until your replacement checks are received, your Rheem Arkansas FCU checks will process as usual. Once you receive you new Arkansas Federal checks, you can bring your old Rheem Arkansas FCU checks to us and request that we destroy them on your behalf.

Will I Receive a Debit or ATM Card and If so, how?

Yes, once your account information is migrated to Arkansas Federal’s account information system, we will then order your Arkansas Federal Debit or ATM card on May 1, 2023. We anticipate that you should receive your new Arkansas Federal Debit or ATM within 10 days after ordering. Please Note: Once you receive your Arkansas Federal Debit or ATM card, activate it utilizing the instructions included. Your existing Rheem Arkansas FCU debit card(s) will be deactivated when you activate your new Arkansas Federal Debit/ATM card or May 22, 2023, whichever comes first.

Is There a Fee for ATM Cards and ATM Transactions?

There is no cost to have an Arkansas Federal Debit or ATM card, or to withdraw money at an Arkansas Federal ATM, or one of the 30,000 surcharge free ATMs. However, there are certain activities that incur a fee. Our Consumer Fee Schedule provides any activities that incur a fee through the ATM.

Will My Direct Deposit Post to My Arkansas Federal Credit Union Account?

Yes, your direct deposit(s) will post to your new Arkansas Federal account after the migration is complete. To avoid disruption of service to any of your ACH or automatic transactions, you must update any vendor(s) or company(s) depositing transactions(s) to your account with your new Arkansas Federal account/loan number(s) and our routing number (282075028). This needs to be completed no later than 30 days after the migration.

What Are the Benefits of Receiving My Payroll by Direct Deposit?

You work hard for your money, and we think you should have access to it as soon as possible — up to two days earlier. That’s why Arkansas Federal offers Early Pay1. With Early Pay1, Arkansas Federal members enjoy earlier access to their paychecks, pension, social security, and military pay.

I Receive a Paper Check.  How Can I Deposit My Check?

Beginning May 1, 2023, you will have the ability to deposit money to your accounts at our Ft. Smith or Van Buren branches, or any of Arkansas Federal’s other 18 branch locations. You can also deposit checks remotely with mobile deposit available through Arkansas Federal’s mobile banking solution.

Will My Payroll Allocations and Automatic Transfers Continue?

No. Prior to the migration you will want to make note of any payroll allocation and automatic transfers/loan payments you have established with Rheem Arkansas FCU, as these will not transfer as part of the account migration. Once the migration to Arkansas Federal is complete, you will need to re-establish your automatic transfers/loan payments within Arkansas Federal’s Online Banking solution.

How Do I Make My Loan Payments?

Once the migration is complete you will have the ability to make your loan payments through Arkansas Federal’s Online or Mobile Banking solutions, any Arkansas Federal branch location, by contacting our call center at 800-456-3000, or you can mail your payment to: Arkansas Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 24410, Little Rock, AR 72221.

Will I Still Be Able to Have Automatic Loan Payments?

Yes, you will continue to have the ability to make loan payments once the account migration is complete. You will need to update your previous automatic payment setup whether that is with your payroll department, bill pay, or other external financial institution. You will need to provide Arkansas Federal’s routing number (282075028) and your new loan number(s) once you receive them to ensure proper processing.

How Do I Apply for a Loan at Arkansas Federal?

Once the migration is complete, you will have the ability to apply for a loan through Arkansas Federal’s website, through any of the 20 branch locations, or by contacting our call center.

Will Future Loans at Arkansas Federal Have the Same Terms and Credit Requirements as Rheem Arkansas FCU?

No. Loan terms and credit requirements will correspond with the loan term and credit requirements that all Arkansas Federal members are subject to at the time the loan application is received.

Will My Current Loan Rate(S) Be the Same?

Yes. All rates you pay on your current Rheem Arkansas FCU loan(s) will carry over to your Arkansas Federal Credit Union loan(s).

Will My Share Dividend Rate Stay the Same?

No, once your Rheem Arkansas FCU share savings is migrated to Arkansas Federal, your share savings account will earn the corresponding dividend rate that all Arkansas Federal members earn.

How Do I Access My Accounts?

As an Arkansas Federal member, you will have the ability to access your accounts through our Online and Mobile Banking solutions, our Ft. Smith or Van Buren branches, or any of Arkansas Federal’s other 18 branch locations, by calling our Call Center, or any of the 30,000 surcharge free ATMs.

How Do I Register for Online & Mobile Banking?

Once the migration is complete, you can register by visiting the login page and selecting “Register Your Account”. Or you can download our mobile app from the Apple App store or Google Play and selecting “Register”.

Will I Still Be Able to Come to The Rheem Arkansas FCU Office To Get Money from My Account?

No, beginning May 1, 2023, you will have the ability to access your accounts at our Ft. Smith or Van Buren branches, or any of Arkansas Federal’s other 18 branch locations, or 30,000 surcharge free ATMs once you receive your debit or ATM card.
